Product Overview
The AffiASSAY® Acetate Colorimetric Assay Kit provides a robust and highly sensitive method for the quantification of acetate in biological samples. Designed for research laboratories, this assay combines enzymatic specificity with a stable chromogenic readout, enabling reliable detection in the low nanomole range.
The assay is optimized for 96-well plate format, allowing high-throughput workflows with excellent reproducibility.
Assay Principle
Acetate is quantified through a multi-step enzymatic cascade:
Conversion of acetate into an activated intermediate via a specific enzymatic module
Coupled phosphorylation reaction generating a measurable cofactor change
Reduction of a chromogenic probe producing a stable colored signal
Signal measured at 450 nm, proportional to acetate concentration
The internal chemistry is optimized to maximize sensitivity while minimizing background interference.
