AffiASSAY®Creatinine (Cr) Colorimetric Assay Kit (Sarcosine Oxidase Method)
Creatinine (Cr) is catalyzed by creatinase to produce creatine. Creatine is then hydrolyzed by creatinase into sarcosine and urea. Sarcosine undergoes further catalysis by sarcosine oxidase, resulting in the formation of glycine, formaldehyde, and hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of peroxidase, hydrogen peroxide reacts with 2,4-(6-Tri-iodine-3-hydroxybenzoic acid) and 4-aminoantipyrine to produce a pink compound. The creatinine content is determined indirectly by measuring the optical density (OD) at 515 nm.
